Darjeeling, often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills,” is a charming hill station located in the north-eastern part of India, in the state of West Bengal. There are about 130,000 people living in Darjeeling, and it is a small center of education and arts, with quiet great infrastructure developed mainly during the times of the British rule and further. Darjeeling, nestled among acres of tea estates, is 2,050 metres above sea level and thus has a cool climate all year long. Darjeeling is often clubbed with destinations in Sikkim its neighbouring state, making it a perfect starting point for exploring the wonders of the Eastern Himalayas.
