Iiit full form: The Indian Institutes of Information Technology

The Indian Institutes of Information Technology ( IIIT s) are centrally funded technical institutes located across India. They are a group of 25 interdisciplinary technology -based- engineering research institutions in India which are focused on information technology. The Indian Institutes of Information Technology ( IIITs ) are autonomous institutions offering technical education focused on Information Technology and Communication Studies. Entry to IIT is through the iit -jee, while for IIIT it is done through AIEEE. Both are top institutes to pursue engineering education but IIT should be preferred first than IIIT. Five IIITs are listed as the Institutes of National Importance at Allahabad, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Kancheepuram and Kurnool. The remaining 21 IIITs are set up on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
