Have any editions of Traction magazine included major articles on aggregates rail traffic? It has had recent features on some railfreight including coal and petroleum, but not stone, gravel, sand, etc, but apologies if I have missed such coverage. I am particularly interested in anything covering... They are a bit tricky to fit, you stretch them over a wheel and then they fit into the traction tyre groove on a driving wheel. I guess normal traction tyres are also cut from rubber tubes. The extra traction I presume is due to the rubber being stretched so much that it's "pores" are opened so a rough-ish surface is in contact with rails.
