Rifagut 200 mg Tablet is a non-aminoglycoside semi-synthetic antibacterial derived from rifamycin SV. It inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis by binding to the bacterial DNA-dependent RNA polymerase and has antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (E. coli). Rifagut 200mg tablet is an antibiotic used to treat infectious diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhoea in adults. It contains rifaximin as its active ingredient and should be taken as prescribed by the doctor. Rifagut 400 MG Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. The lower dose (200mg, 400mg) is used to treat traveller's diarrhoea (an intestinal infection that occurs as a result of eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water while travelling) caused due to E. coli bacteria.
