After completing her schooling, Renu Raj earned her MBBS degree from Government Medical College in Kottayam. After this, she began working as a house surgeon in Kollam district. Renu Raj 's efforts paid off and she cleared UPSC CSE 2014 in her very first attempt, achieving the second highest rank in the country.
