Neera Arya (5 March 1902 – 26 July 1998) was an Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter , widely regarded as the first female spy of the Indian National Army (INA). Neera Arya, born in 1902, was the first woman spy of the Indian National Army . She killed her husband, a British officer, to save Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and endured brutal torture without betraying the INA. Neera Arya , a soldier of the Rani of Jhansi Regiment of the Azad Hind Fauj, deserves more than mere words. She deserves to be remembered, to be honoured for the unthinkable sacrifices she made for our freedom.
