It serves as proof of the pensioner’s existence and is mandatory for receiving regular pension benefits. Traditionally, this certificate required physical presence, but now, with Face Authentication, the process has become fully contactless and can be done from the comfort of home. Jeevan Pramaan is a scheme that allows pensioners to use Aadhaar authentication for life certificates.
