Idoma (Ìdɔ́mà) is the second official language spoken in Benue State in southeast-central Nigeria, by approximately one million people (2020 estimate). [1] The Idoma are a Nigerian ethnic group that inhabit the lower western areas of Benue State and some adjacent states. They have a traditional ruler, the Och' Idoma , and trace their origin to Iduh, who had several children who founded different groups and villages.
