BootMii tries to load from SD. If the files are missing or unreadable, then it fails to start. The same goes with WiiFlow. Your channel is likely just a forwarder, launching a specific homebrew on your SD card. There should be a "BootMii" folder and an "apps" folder on your SD, with the latter containing your homebrew software.
