Dharmasthala Temple’s History extends over several centuries. In the sixteenth century, Birmanna Pergade, a Jain ruler, and his wife Ammu Ballalthi founded the temple. Legend has it that Pergade’s dream was an appearance of Lord Manjunatha, telling him to construct a temple in his honor. The pair converted their modest home into a hallowed area that became the Dharmasthala temple. Dharmasthala is a small pilgrimage village located in the beautiful state of Karnataka.
