Bharatmala project: Bharatmala Pariyojana is a comprehensive road

Bharatmala Pariyojana is a comprehensive road development programme to improve connectivity, efficiency and logistics in India. It includes 34,800 km of Economic Corridors, Inter Corridors, Feeder Routes, Expressways, Coastal and Border Roads, and ongoing projects. balance works under various phases of National Highways Development Project (NHDP) shall be fully subsumed under the proposed Bharatmala Pariyojana, to remove overlap and undertake comprehensive development. Bharatmala Pariyojana was approved by Government of India in 2017 covering a length of 34,800 km to improve connectivity and reduce logistic cost in the country. As on 31.10.2024, projects covering a total length of 26,425 km have been awarded and 18,714 km has been constructed. The State/UT-wise details of progress of project under Phase-I of Bharatmala are Annexed.
