Admissions to VJTI , Mumbai are strictly merit-based and conducted exclusively through the online centralized admission process, following the guidelines set by the Government of Maharashtra and managed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. VJTI Mumbai is an autonomous institution owned by Govt. of Maharashtra and affiliated to Mumbai University. After autonomy (2004), VJTI has separate Board of Governors, where Chairman (Leading Industrialist) is nominated by Govt. of Maharashtra.
