A suo motu FIR lodged by the Inspector-In-Charge of Brajarajnagar police station said that the accused ASI had opened fire on Odisha Health minister 'with a clear intention to kill'. Odisha Health Minister Naba Das succumbed to his injuries on Sunday after he was shot by a policeman during an event in Jharsuguda district. Minister with over 140 cars — who was Naba Kisore Das , BJD leader fatally shot by cop Das , who switched over from the Congress to the BJD in 2019, was shot on his way to an official function. He died later in the evening, the hospital said in a statement. The report by the forensic science laboratory said while one bullet struck Naba Das , five others hit a government vehicle accompanying his convoy. The BJD leader was shot on January 29, 2023, by police officer Gopal Das in Jharsuguda district.
