Lalbaugcha Raja is the popular Ganesha idol of the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal. The mandal was founded in 1934 at Lalbaug Market. Lalbaugcha Raja also known as the “King of Lalbaug” . Every year, millions of devotees line up for hours just to get a glimpse of this majestic ganpati and do puja to fulfill their wishes. Overseeing the festival since 1934 is the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal which was founded by Koli fishermen. 2024 was the 91st anniversary of the festival. Since 1935, the Kambli family has made the idol that stands 12 feet tall.
