Jog Falls situated in the north western part of the Indian state of Karnataka is a popular tourist destination and natural attraction in the district of Shimoga. Jog Falls is created by the Sharavati river dropping 253 m (830 ft), making it the second highest plunge falls in India. These four streams merge to form one of the most magnificent waterfalls in India. Jog falls is a cascading wonder, formed by River Sharavati in Siddapura taluk in Uttara Kannada district, with its view point located in the Shimoga district of Karnataka. Tucked away in dense evergreen forests, it is a hot spot amongst tourists and is a must visit place.
