Chamundi Hills Chamundi Hills is a hill located in the city of Mysore can be viewed from a distance of about 8 to 10 km and from all the corners of Mysore City. The hill is home to the famous Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, which is about 3,489 ft. above sea level and located at a distance of 13 km from Mysore. Chamundi hill is situated in the direction of southeast, abutting Mysore city, Karnataka. The isolated hillock is spread over 12º 15’ 34” - 12° 17´ 5” N and 76º 39’ 63”- 76° 42´ 02” E. The hill has periphery of c. 11 Km and surface area of c.17 Km 2. The study area is dotted with seven hillocks ranging from 861- 944 m, asl surrounding peak plateau of 1024-1057 m.
