Brijesh Kumar Singh (also known as Arun) is an Indian Mafia Don turned politician [1] and a former Member of Uttar Pradesh legislative council as an independent candidate. Brijesh has been a member of the 18th Uttar Pradesh Assembly and also the 17th Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh. Since 2017 he is representing the Deoband constituency and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Brijesh Singh is Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Government of Maharashtra. He was previously the Additional Director General for police in Maharashtra. The Allahabad High Court on Monday acquitted gangster and former MLC Brijesh Singh in a murder case of seven people of a family in Chandauli district in 1987. The court upheld the order of Varanasi District Court, which had freed him from the charges in 2018.
