Anil Vasantrao Deshmukh is an Indian politician based in Maharashtra and a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He has represented the Vidhan Sabha constituency of Katol in the 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and the 14th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He has also served as the Minister of Home Affairs in the Maharashtra government. Police have registered a case against four unidentified persons on charges of attempt to murder after NCP (SP) leader and former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh was seriously injured in stone pelting at his car in Nagpur, officials said on Tuesday. Anil Deshmukh , the former Home Minister of Maharashtra, was injured on Monday when stones were reportedly pelted at his car in Nagpur district. The attack occurred as Deshmukh was returning from a meeting in his Katol Assembly Constituency. Former Home Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh was injured after his car was allegedly attacked near Belphata on the Jalalkheda Road near Katol in Nagpur district late Monday, police said.
